Vote To Make Your Voice Heard
Why We Vote
The November 3 election is one week away (assuming you have not already cast your vote). It is imperative that every voice is heard and every vote is counted so we have a government that is representative of our people and our values.
This year’s election will likely generate an unprecedented turnout. If you plan to vote in person, be sure to block your calendar so you have time to wait in line and cast your vote. Because voting is one of the most important civic duties and rights as citizens, Spry Digital will be providing employees paid time off to vote, no matter how long it takes. If you manage a business, consider providing flex time – or better yet – provide paid time off to vote.
No matter how you are voting – absentee, mail-in or in-person – make sure you follow your state guidelines so your vote is counted.
Helping Others To Vote
We are also encouraging Spry team members to take November 3 as a day of community service.
There are many ways to help on election day. You can volunteer to be a poll worker, drive people to and from the polls, monitor social media remotely for signs of voter suppression, or provide supplies to those waiting in line to vote.
Here are a few ways to engage:
- Protect the vote (Volunteer to monitor polls, provide supplies or monitor social media.)
- Vote411
- BallotPedia
- Carpool Vote (As an option, see if your church or city are organizing local rides, or offer to drive neighbors or family members)
- Become a Poll Worker
Voting is one of the ways you as a citizen get to voice your opinion about how our government works. Every vote matters. As John Lewis said, “The vote is precious. It is the most non-violent tool we have in a democratic society, and we must use it.”
