Variety The Children’s Charity of St. Louis

When one of the most respected charities in St. Louis needed a new platform to increase their online presence and streamline their donor and event management processes, they came to Spry Digital for an all-in-one open source solution. Variety The Children’s Charity of St. Louis is an international leader in fundraising and provides grants to more than 75 partner agencies throughout the St. Louis area. The grants directly impact the lives of St. Louis area children with physical and mental disabilities.

Variety found themselves with an outdated content management system which made it difficult to update content, promote events, and take online donations. After reviewing their goals and current pain points with Variety, Spry Digital recommended the Drupal CMS with the CiviCRM module to help in these areas.

We worked with Variety to redefine their donation and event management processes. We also collaborated with Momentum, Variety’s marketing agency, to help define Help A Variety Kid, a donation hub that would live on Variety’s new Drupal site and promote the organization’s mission and purpose online by engaging donors and providing an interactive platform where multiple types of online donations could be accepted and tracked by Variety.

Spry Digital migrated Variety’s existing site to Drupal, making enhancements to content and usability along the way, improving their bounce rate by 40% overnight. With Help A Variety Kid, Spry Digital built a donation portal within the website that would accept direct donations, donations towards items-in-need, corporate sponsored donation drives and pizza packs, all powered by CiviCRM. Recently, Variety sold and had online registration for 24 tables for their upcoming Variety Trivia Night, using the event management piece of CiviCRM.
